Can I get financial aid to go to community college when I already have a bachelor's degree?

I miss being in school, and I'd really like to possibly go to community college. However, I really can't afford it. I was wondering if I could get financial aid to go to community college when I already have a bachelor's degree from a 4 year university.

FAFSA is free to apply for federal aid. If you are eligible you can go back to whatever school you want. You just cannot attend two schools at one time and have the aid pay for both.

Can I get financial aid to go to community college when I already have a bachelor's degree?wwe myspace myspace.com

No. I suggest you go to graduate school. Then you can get financial aid.
Once you have earned one Bachelor's degree, you become ineligible for Pell Grants and SEOG. However, there may be other types of financial aid that you qualify for -- for example, Stafford loans, Perkins loans, and grant/scholarship funding from your school.

Having earned a Bachelor's degree automatically makes you independent, so you would also be eligible for additional Stafford Loan funding.

At this stage, however, you might want to consider taking some graduate school courses instead. Graduate students are eligible for much more student loan funding that 2nd-time undergrads and having some graduate coursework behind you is great for your mind, appeals prospective employers, and could help you if you later decide to pursue an advanced degree.

What type of surveillance camera would be best suited for the entrance to my gated community?

Our gated community needs a surveillance camera. Our gate was hit and broken two times, but we have been unable to determine who did it (probably am impatient driver). If we had a camera that could capture video for 24-48 hours (and then recycle), we could determine who is responsible for future incidents. Since there is only one entrance to the community (besides climbing over fences), this would also be a deterrent to criminals entering the community. There is a light pole with electricity near the entrance to the community, so power and view plane issues are not a problem. We just need to be sure the resolution of the images is sufficient to capture faily good images (license plate numbers, etc). This is Altanta, so severe weather is also not an issue. Finally, we are a small gated community, so we cannot afford very expensive options. Reliable, inexpensive solutions are preferred over high cost, high-tech solutions.

What type of surveillance camera would be best suited for the entrance to my gated community?graphics for myspace

Silly answer - Hang a balloon full of paint so when they ram the gate with their car the balloon pops and gets paint all over their car. Just look for the car with paint splattered all over it.

Serious answer - I don't think there is a cheap solution. You can either buy a security camera system, which has a camera and a time lapse VCR or buy a camera to connect to your computer and use software to do the monitoring.

What type of surveillance camera would be best suited for the entrance to my gated community?myspace tweaks myspace.com

Check out http://www.supercircuits.com and I believe they have a variety of relatively inexpensive cameras which will work for your situation.

I would definitely get a camera that has a weather housing for rain and bad weather (even if it's not severe like the snow you had a day ago!), as well as infrared capability for night views.

Pair it up with a digital recorder of some kind (also available at the same website) and you're in business.

Money first community .Swearing, drugs /alcohol abusers
For what it's worth, my sense of community (i.e. the groups that I identify with) is largely defined by traditional social groupings like my family, religion, ethnicity, gender, and nationality. However, I think the nature of "community" in the modern world is changing as the social groupings which have traditionally defined the individual's sense of community have begun to change. As geographic distance, cultural isolation, and barriers to communication between disparate groups of people are minimized or neutralized by technologies like television or the internet , individuals are more apt to realize their commonality and create virtual "communities" across cultures, national borders, etc.

As for the mechanims for transmitting a sense of community, I would surmise that those mechanisms are very much dependant on which society an individual is a member of? For an individual living in a society that is relatively technologically advanced, I would think that socialization into "communities" would probably occur through media such as television, the internet, educational and political institutions, etc. Alternatively, for more traditional societies, socialization of the individual might occur through "elders" who are charged with imparting and policing the community's standards of behavior, values, religious beliefs.

Midge...what if they were not Christians hon....we would not want them evangelizing. A lot of people doing community service do talk about what they did and what it cost them or did to their lives such as drug use, stealing, vandalism, etc.

The Skeptical Christian

Peg
no it isnt. its the opposite. its not a service.

evangelizing is NOT a service to society
That is not community service. It's church service. it doesn't help the community, because the entire community is not Christian.
No, the criminal justice system is part of our government and receives public funding. The government in our nation is supposed to play no part in promoting nor discriminating against religious beliefs. This would have the government promoting one group's religious beliefs and would be wrong.
Not. I think that it would offend more than anything else.
if they did that, they should then be charged with "public indecency."
NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. What kind of experience does this person have with the Holy Word. He may drive more people away than the interest that he makes in other people.

Does this person even believe in God and Jesus???

So much more could be said.
You mean, use religion as a punishment.

Separation of church and state, anyone?
There are enough criminals evangelizing already.

Seriously, though, it's not the government's business to promote any religion. That's for individual religions to do on their own time and with their own money.
No, it is not. I'm assuming you mean religious evangelizing... and the answer is still no.

Community service is serving the community as a whole and everyone is NOT Christian or religious. Street sweeping, assisting at a homeless shelter and many othe things DO serve the entire community. Evangelizing is spreading individual truths (or lies, depending on your point of view) and cannot be allowed in the service of government.
You really think it would be beneficial to force someone to evangelize?

We have enough problems with the churches not teaching Gods truth, but now you want just any tom dick and harry that

commits a crime to do it now?

Very bad idea........
I completely agree, then we would all know the truth about those who most often face judgment from our court systems. It turns out that many many Christian are breaking laws. It would be a great example if we made them all evangelize as punishment for the crimes they have committed. Then future generations would see that Christianity is actually a ruse and its followers are more apt to get into trouble with the law than others.
Haha. You're joking, right?
Would you really want me, and atheist, evangelizing to people. You think your myth is the bible is full of interesting stuff. Wait until people started talking about what I had to say about christianity.

That would actually be pretty fun, so I am all for it. I'm actually thinking about doing it now, even without being told I have to.
Hell no, This is not a theocracy..
Sure!

IF by evangelize, you mean, converting to religiously following the Don't drink and drive commandmant,

Or thou shalt not use drugs commandmant.

But religious evangelizing? I doubt you would want me "evangelizing", I am not christian!

And actually, even if people did get ready to convert to my religion, There is no way you can convert to it, cos its so old, the founders didn't think there are any other ppl in this world except those belonging to their religion.

All these newage religions like Scientology and Christianity are so dying to evangelize. Chill out! Drink beer *** fear!

What type of degree do you need to teach at a community college?

Im thinking of becoming a teacher, and Im interested in maybe teaching at a community college. My mom is a professor, but she has a doctorat degree, but my uncle only has a masters and he teaches at a community college. ALSO, what do you think is the best subject to teach at a community college, and is it fun working there? Also, do you make more money rather than working at a high school?

What type of degree do you need to teach at a community college?comment boxes for myspace

IN GENERAL, you need a masters or higher to teach at a community college, and a PhD to teach at a college or university.

What type of degree do you need to teach at a community college?myspace quotes myspace.com

I have an uncle who teaches at a community college and he has his PhD. He teaches in a social science field.

I think it may depend on the state in which you live. I have a friend who taught at a community college part-time and she has her masters. I think she was teaching business classes.

Go to college websites and look up the job ads to see what qualifications they are seeking. I don't think age matters as much as education and experience.

Good luck. If that's what you want to do then do what you need to do. :-)
in community colleges you need to have a masters degree or u are in progress in finishing it... same goes in universities... masters is the minimum requirement or at least u are already in masters program...
Many people currently teaching at community colleges have masters degrees, but some have PhDs. When community colleges hire, they will accept applications from both, but will often prefer a PhD - they are becoming a bit more selective. It may also depend on the specific field.

Here's a good website that lists which colleges, 4-year and community, are hiring, and what they are looking for in their candidates. Figure out what you might like to teach, and where you might like to live, and find out what community colleges in those areas are looking for.

http://www.higheredjobs.com
Definitely a Masters but even community colleges are asking now for people with PhD's. Finish your Masters and try to do it in the field you enjoy.

Then look for the place you would like to be (Texas, California, etc.) and try in the colleges where you would like to teach.

Remember that you can also get your PhD while you are working, and there are many classes that you can take online.

Just have fun with whatever you do.
From what I have seen and heard you have to have or at least be working on your Master's degree as the others have already answered. The one thing they left out is that your master's degree or PhD must be in the subject area you want to teach.

For example, I have a master's degree in Instructional Leadership, but because my master's is not in my subject area I can not teach classes at a community college or university. I hope this helps.

What are the challenges for community arts these days?

I'm going to manage a community arts classes and make small festivals. Does anyone know what the challenges are? Thanks.

What are the challenges for community arts these days?myspace background

Money and audience: there is never enough of either. Publicity is expensive, and many times there is just too much going on to support another group of events. What's important is that you know who is in your market niche and how best to reach them.

What are the challenges for community arts these days?flash myspace myspace.com

Lack of funding is a big one. Audience publicity too. I play in the community band in the summers and over 3/4 of our audience comes from nursing home type residents. The other 1/4 are family of band members.

A great way to overcome lack of audience is to have your ensembles play at well established festivals, like summer street fairs, county and state fairs, etc. Also, smaller ensembles (clarinet choir, flute choir, brass choir) can give more frequent recitals at many different locations. Visual art can often be displayed in public libraries.

The most important thing to remember about community art programs is that they're meant to be enjoyed by first and foremost the musicians and artists involved.

My friend and I want to have a clothing swap at a church or community center where people bring whatever extra clothes they have and take whatever they need. We've tried that at my workplace the last couple of years, and it's not really worked very well. Some people are hesitant to browse the hand-me-downs in that particular setting. Much of the clothing ended up at Goodwill. I personally love Goodwill and Salvation Army thrift stores. They have good stuff and it's a comfortable setting. Plus they are always there, unlike the occasional swap.

You may have a situation where the swap idea may work. Best wishes, really.

I don't think that was a violation. But I'm not sure if Yahoo actually reads over all violation reports, I think if someone reports you you automatically get a violation. You could have sent in an appeal, the only problem is you lose 10 points if they deny it. Anyway, it's the question that should have been reported, since that's against the Community Guidelines.
You did answer them with your second sentence by saying you would email them. I have no idea, dude. My guess is some report happy troll did you in.
There definitely was something wrong with your answer from what I can see-your answer was deleted for chattiness. You may think there was nothing wrong with it, but other users saw otherwise and reported it for violating the Community Guidelines.

The only way you could have avoided the violation in the first place was to simply not answer the question at all; you should have reported it for solicitation instead.

beware as some ot these contracts include that the company or association leasing from you will be responsible for the upkeep of the premises during the course of the aforesaid contract and from our experience they will do as little as possible and what they do carry out may not be to the standard you would want or expect. Any assocation although not obliged to do so should have no objection to putting you in touch with other people like yourselves so you can ask them for a verbal or written reference or report as to how things went when they leased their property to the same company. If they say they cannot do this due to the data protection act this is not quite true , as if i was the assocation and i knew or beleived i was doing things in a proper manner there is nothing to stop me from asking both my past and present clientele for permission to pass on their details or indeed with your permission to pass your contact details to them.
i would say firstly its a personal choice,is the house a family home?ie;cherished?or is the home an investment?

not to be a snob but you may risk damage to your property if the wrong people move in, and i would imagine you get more control over who moves in going through an letting agent.

sorry i couldnt help with the facts but i thought i would offer my opinion anyway.

Question about this website's Community Guideline Rules?

Okay some person asked this and i replied. the question was:

"Can someone email me at bunboyispissed@yahoo.com?"

and I replied back

"Is this question for anyone to answer? I'll email you!"

And my answer was reported by the community guidelines as a violation and I don't see what's wrong with my answer! Can someone please tell me and do you or do you not think there's something wrong with my answer?

sounds like a troll trap to me. the question was in violation and any answers will fall under violation.

however you answered a question with a question. you did not answer the person's question. either you were gonna email the person or not email them.

Lowering A Theft Fine Without Community Service?

If you are charged with theft under $50 you can go and talk to the judge to see if you can get the $600 fine lowered a few hundred bucks. Has anyone here actually had this happen (without having to do some kind of community service)??

Do you feel a part of the LGBT community???

i think that us LGBT have a very good community and support each other very well. it makes me proud of being one! the straight community is very all over the place and full of prejudism, i feel for them.

Even though I am straight I am a major supporter of the LGBT community and I do advocate for gay rights so I am proud to say that I do feel part of the LGBT community

Do you feel a part of the LGBT community???unblock myspace myspace.com

I think that's true to a point. Not all areas of the country have a good or strong LGBT community. I live in a rural and fairly conservative area and there just aren't that many out folks around here. Consequently there isn't a strong community. Also to be honest, I've seen plenty of prejudice within LGBT communities as well. My partner and I have children and there have been times that we have been looked down on as "breeders".
yes i am happy as i have found friends and support. email me if you want to talk some time
Nope. I am T myself, but have had almost no contact with anyone else, and am living stealth and enjoy it too much to become out and proud.
I'm happy with the friends I have who are gay, but I reckon the idea of any 'community' is overrated. I've good straight mates as well as gay ones and I don't think most gay dudes are really great community models most of the time! It's just about where you keep your friends.
I'm not sure it's a good idea to split us into "communities" like that. Can't we all just be who we are and not worry about it?
I love being apart of the LGBT community. Everybody does support eachother no matter what. Unlike the straight community judging every second of the day. But I am also very proud. lol!
Sure! I'm an ally...
Usually, but I moved this winter and there really isn't an LGBT community in this small town, so it's harder to feel a part of it.
Yes, I feel certain 'parts' of the LGBT community . . . heh heh . .

[Sorry, I couldn't resist.]
Generally yes, but sometimes it can feel a bit contrived. And that's when I need some space.
I feel like I'm a part of the LGBT community. I try to do what I can to support it by being a member of several different LGBT organizations like HRC, GLAAD, Lambda Legal, etc. One of the things I like is that we are very organized at getting information out and sharing it over the Web.

Hospitality Management is a good career, but that degree limits you to that one field; a Business degree is applicable to many more fields, including hotel management, so it will give you more options.

If I Go to a community college %26amp; get an associates degree. Should I Choose Business or Hospitality Managementhack into myspace myspace.com

A business degree is a general one, giving you an opportunity to work in many different areas in case you decide you do not like hospitality management. You might also want to go on to a bachelor's degree, and that is also an easier option with a general business degree, which is also viewed as more challenging than a Hospitality Management degree.

If you eventually want to start your own business, go the general business route and eventually major in accounting. Not only will you learn how businesses are run and the operational, financial and legal issues they face, you will also learn how to do your own bookkeeping and tax returns. This is useful because you will save money by not having to pay someone else to do this when your business is young and probably not yet profitable. Good luck....

How to bring a celtic wiccan change to an all Christian community?

I am 17, and I practice magick. I am also wiccan, but I live in a small community that doesn't believe in the art of "witchcraft", I know that there are a few people in my community that are wiccan. I just want to know how to start a coven, and how to open a change of faith in to my community. Serious answers please! Thank you!

I hear you. Being solitary is tough, particularly when your beliefs are important to you and you want to connect with people.

So what to do?

Well, start putting energy into finding others who will be the right fit for you. Now take a minute to look at what I’m saying. You want to call others to you when the time is right and that will be right for you to be with. This way you are not forcing anything or manipulating anyone against their will. So there will be no karmic backlash.

A good phrase to work by is, “When it is right let it happen.”

There are some great lessons to be learned in solitary practice. Take this time to let Mom be your teacher. Spend time outdoors looking at the patterns in nature. Learn about the plants in your area. Listen to the birds. What can you learn about their calls and how they communicate? Plant an herb garden. Listen to the wind, watch clouds, and learn about the weather. Gosh, there is so much cool stuff Mom can teach you and there will be plenty of time for coven work. Believe it or not the stuff you can learn from her is far more cool then anything in a book of spells. Let her be your teacher and lover during this season.

The coven thing will happen. Just don’t try and force it. That usually makes a mess.

Blessed Be

Pabs

How to bring a celtic wiccan change to an all Christian community?myspace.com blog myspace.com

You are too young to start your own coven. If you can't find a coven to join, or are not brave enough to ride around town with your Goddess bumper stickers, you may just have to stay solitary til you can find what you're looking for.

You will NOT change your community's faith, believe me. It is strictly forbidden to even try.............. you know that right?
Sounds like the best first step is to talk to the other Wiccans in your community. Evangelism isn't needed in Wicca, but getting together to form a coven is certainly a good idea, if they're interested.
don't know, but sounds like fun.
Just be and let be child. Do not fall into the trap of trying to force your views. You have your own path and they have theirs. Others of like mind will be drawn into your circle and it will grow.
You have no ideas what you are getting into... this is dangerous territory! You think you will get power, and all that comes with witchcraft. But you fail to recognize that the devil you want to serve with your life is a lower power. The greater power is God who happened to create Satan. Why choose to serve the lower and be a slave to him when you can serve the greatest of all who is the creater or all and who is the Almighty One? God loves you more than you know and wants you to know Him in a personal way. That's why He sents us Jesus, His only son, to die just for you. He loved you that much. If you want real magic in your life, serve Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit fill you with His power. It will outshine anything that Satan, wiccans or majgicians have to offer you.... There a real Christians who know the real power of God, who pray and get their prayers answered, who see miracles and healings, and its not phoney. Find a Pentecostal /Charismatic church and talk to the pastor. He will help you!
Why don't you just cast a spell and make other people join you?
Do you mean that none of your friends are wiccan?

If you've even got one or two of them that are, that's what I would limit myself to working with. A lot of folks get caught up in the idea of having a working coven of 13 and so forth, but far more important is just having a small group of people that you trust and care for to worship, celebrate, and work with.

When you say that you know a few people in your community are wiccan, do you mean that "statistically there are bound to be a few" or do you actually know who these people are? If so, and if you have any reason to trust these people, you might want to talk with them. (Remember, just because people are the same or a similar religion doesn't mean that you'll like them or have good reason to trust them)

And in all things, blessings.
magick?

What a nutjob.

Should i go to a Community college, then transfer to a university...or go to university directly?

Ok...im really confused because no one in my family has gone to college in the united states. Im a senior and doing very well academically. I'm in the top 3% of my class and im taking 3 AP college courses, and the rest honors classes.

I plan on studying medicine, and eventually becoming a pediatrician.

So...should i go to community college first, then transfer to UF or should I apply to UF directly?

What are the pros and cons of each option?

Should i go to a Community college, then transfer to a university...or go to university directly?maps myspace.com

your best bet is to go straight to a university... often if you go to a community college, your credits will not transfer properly. also, especially considering your academic status, it will look much better to a potential employer that you went straight to and graduated from a university.

Should i go to a Community college, then transfer to a university...or go to university directly?myspace graphics myspace.com

You should go straight to University if you are able to handle the emotional changes that will be thrown your way. You sound like you will be academically competitive, but if you can't handle the social aspect of a University then you may want to try Community College first.
i say college first then uni so at least u'd have some common experience... it's easier that way..... personally i wouldn't be able to handle uni right out of high school.. hey if u have the option of transfering why not.....im gonna get myself to college n then transfer to uni(most programs allow that but not all)..but do whatever you feel is right... good luck with your decision!
If you are in the top 3%...then I would personally go to a University. That's quite good.

But what it will come down to is what you feel comfortable with.
You'll save money if you go to a Community college and get all of your general ed classes out of the way and then transfer over to a university. That's what I did! Good for you and good luck!
Apply to UF, and a couple others, too. Reach as high as you can. You can always go to CC and you might get a really good opportunity that you wouldn't otherwise have.
Apply to UF directly bcause that is less money on your behalf and they may give you a full scholarship now.

Dont do it if you are not metally prpared for such a hard curriculum like UF.
If your community college has a good reputation than I would go there first mainly because it's cheaper. You can then transfer to a state university. Otherwise, go straight to the University.
I really think you should take advantage of your smarts and go straight to university. Most people go to college because of the career they want to go into (i.e fireman, plumber etc.)
well first of all you should apply to both so you can have a choice later. Second, it really depends on you and your situation. community college is cheaper so if money is a problem then you should go to community college first. personally i would go straight to university. Thats what i'm doing right now. I just started my first year at UTEP and i gotta say i am liking it. Plus you save yourself the trouble of transferring credits and other technical problems like that. good luck on your choice
You should definitely go to a 4yr college directly. A community college is usually for students who did not do too well in high school, and they need the chance to raise their grades to get into a better school. A 4 yr college looks so much better than a community college on your resume. Go to UF directly!
your very smart so i would say go to university.

most people want the college expirences im sure you would prefer that. but if arent comfortable with leaving home then stay. also if money is a problem then go to a community college.
I am in community college. The cost is cheaper, the classes are just as hard as they would be at a 4 year school, and when I graduate, I am automatically a junior; I think this route is perfect for less than stellar high school students, or people who are older and are only just beginning college.

Is going to church considered community service?

There is this guy who started coming to my church out of the blue by himself. He is young, about 20. I'm attracted to him, but everyone in my family keeps joking around that he is only coming to church for community service for jail. I don't think this is true, but could it be?

Is going to church considered community service?top 10 myspace

No attendance merely is not community service. Now if the church sponsors a soup kitchen one day a week for the homeless and he helps out with this project the church is sponsoring, then during that time, he is doing community service. And he might not be able to participate in the weekly soup kitchen without attending church, sometimes that is a condition for working in the service project. He might be attending because he is working his own program. Many 21 step programs insist one find a way to change ones life. You say he has had some criminal law issues. If you are attracted to him, why not speak with him directly, If he is turing his life around, then be encouraging. Many a wrong choiced young man turns out to be the perfect husband. He has been there and does not want to go back. Good luck

Is going to church considered community service?myspace.com widgets myspace.com

yes
I think not............
ha ha i think they are just joking with you your funny
no....just talk to him and dnt wrry bout your fam. They not interested into him lik dat......you are! so do wat you do!
its not unless he is an altar server. or helps collect cash. or helps the preist
Maybe community work through the church or organized by the church, sure, but not just attending services I wouldn't think. That would be an easy way out.
no it isnt.
That is a new one! Never heard of that type of community service........................
No, not unless he helps out watching little kids in Sunday school or something. But just going to church isn't considered community service.
I don't think so? But maybe.Or he could be just a nice guy.
i think that its only considered community service, if he's actually helping at the church. if he's just attending- well then, i don't think so.
its a community dis-service if you ask me, first with the bells at 8am on weekeends, and then its okay for you people to park where ever the crap you want but when i do it, YOU call the tow truck.

So what if it is true, if you like him you like him. No church doesnt count as comm. service but if he was not going before he got into trouble and has now started there are people who would argue it makes him look truly "redeemed".
You can NOT go to church to fulfill community service sentences in my state, and I doubt you can in any state of the U.S. I'd be careful, but you can certainly talk to this young man, and welcome him to church, and then you can ask him 'details' about himself, including why he decided to go to that church ... if he's okay, then you may ask him out for a coffee, and maybe he'll ask you out on a 'real date' when you're having that coffee.
Actually, Its not, but it can appeal to be Community Service if he helps out in the Church building and helps the Church Community in Any way, Then that will be Community service. But if he is just going to Church and doing nothing but Worshiping, then he is not doing Community service.

P.S.- Be careful around him if u are going into a relationship. (sry i know it none of my business but just be cautious around. *since he is a ex con*)
Change your church to one that welcomes newcomers, then you would know
In short, he could twist it and say yes that's comm service, but ,probably that's not the case.. Even Young people look or need spirituality or god in their lives with out any pushing from anyone ..
Legally, no. However, morally its up to you.
I fail to see how one going to church and sitting in a pew listening to gospel as doing a community service for anyone in anyway. Now cleaning the church may be. I think someone is doing more than community service in your congregation. lol
i don't think so,.....after all, what kind of community service is that??,.....
no not at all. comm. service is doing a service(work) for a church, the city or town,parks,charities,etc...(any place that the public goes to or uses.
No, he could not get credit for community service hours just by attending church. He would have to provide some type of service or do some type of work to benefit the church ie. mow the lawn, maintenance jobs, volunteer work, etc.
Generally, just going to services would not be community service.

Normally you have to actually serve someone or something. Now if he was showing up to serve meals to the poor at the church soup kitchen, that might be community service.

What's up with your family? Why aren't they welcoming someone new into the church instead of making jokes behind his back? He may move on to another church soon!

Should i go to a community college for 2 years then transfer to a 4 year university or not???

I am a senior in high school. I want to go to a big university for all 4 years, but my mother wants me to attend a small community college for 2 years then go to a 4 year college for financial reasons. Will this financial option ruin my future?

Should i go to a community college for 2 years then transfer to a 4 year university or not???myspace co

No, it won't ruin your future. In fact, some studies show that students who attend a community college and then transfer to a 4 year graduate at a slightly higher rate and with a slightly higher GPA than someone who attends a single 4-year university

Also, if you concentrate upon your general ed at community college, you may find that your interests change and you find your major changing. That may well change what 4-year you want to attend.

In California, if you attend a community college and then transfer, you need to take less general ed courses than if you attend a Cal State. This allows much more flexibility in what courses you take. It might be the same in your location.

If you do well in community college, you might be able to get a scholarship to finish off at 4 year [A friend of mine got a free ride to USC on the basis of his community college grades]

It is a lot cheaper.

If you live at home while at CC, you can get used to the college classes and the general change in environment without having to manage living in a dorm (with random room-mates and extra expenses).

Should i go to a community college for 2 years then transfer to a 4 year university or not???myspace jokes myspace.com

To my understanding it is cheaper to go to a 2 year college for any basic courses first. Than transferring to a 4 year college. I don't think it will ruin your future at all.
No, not at all- and it is easier to switch majors when you switch schools... Somewhere back in the 80s, going to a community college changed and it is not viewed as a weakness. But if you want to get to a good 4 year school, work hard to keep your grades up and talk with a guidance counselor to make sure the classes you take are transferable
No.. in order to have a better future I will not surrender in many difficulties and trials in life,... For me this serves as trials that I can overcome, I can apply to many organizations and can be a working students or being an S.A. to supply my financial needs in order to studies in universities.

I wilL do my best and exert my best effort in order to finish my study and obtain my goal because all problems have a solution and all trials may overcome if I am will pushed hard and also in the help of God.

Is this a violation of community standards?

I am asking this on R%26amp;S because I have seen a lot of this on some of my questions.

If someone answers a question with just a "YES" or a "NO" is that a violation of community standards? To my way of thinking it is because they haven't given any reason or justification for their answer. A minimal answer should give at least some reason, even if it is only something like "You're an idiot, everyone knows that isn't true!"

Have you ever reported anyone for that kind of reply?

I don't think so. The rules are so strictly enforced anyway that we shouldn't be looking for more ways to restrict our freedom of speech, much less for the fact that some people don't elaborate on their answers. I have only reported twice in the time I have had this account, only because they were very serious situations. I would never report anyone for answering my question with a "yes" or "no" because they have indeed answered the question.

Is this a violation of community standards?celebrity myspace myspace.com

I could report this question for chatting, but I won't because I'm lazy.
Then it was the question that was the violation
Sometimes the question is phrased so that yes or no is all that is required. To make sure it's more than that, the question should add "And why do you think that way?" just to be safe.

But really, anything can be reported as a violation, whether it actually is or not. YA seems not to care.
perhaps yes or no is all that is required. I don't believe the guidelines tell you how long your responses are supposed to be.
No, that's silly.

And no, I've never reported anyone for that. I don't report answers for "not being an answer." That's just retarded.
NO
In light of this I will be adding "Because God told me so" to the end of all my answers.

Does God exist?

No, because God told me so.
It is playing for points and a lot of the children do it!!!
No, people who have been reported for longer answers perhaps are afraid to answer with more.
Answering a question cannot possibly be a violation. The purpose of this site is for answers, I cannot think of a more definitive one than, yes or no.

If someone reports someone for that, its truly asinine.
no

personally i really like facebook. myspace is much too time consuming to maintain what with all the html coding and crap like that. facebook is user friendly, easy to set up, and it has lots of interesting applications you can add, like sending free gifts to people and drawing them pictures on the computer. on top of this, the privacy settings are SO much better than most sites. you can choose exactly what you want to hide or allow to be viewed. so rather than hiding your entire profile, you can pick which bits and pieces of it are seen by others.

I'm going to a community college, but i want out.I only need 16 more hours for a associative.Sh

Should i stay because i only need 16 more hours and go ahead and get the degree here or should i go to a real college and get a degree there because it is more appealing than a degree from a community college. Keep in mind this is only for a associates.

I'm going to a community college, but i want out.I only need 16 more hours for a associative.Should i stay?my myspace

An AS is an AS. The tuition at a JC is probably less that a 4YI, and if it is accredited, your credits will transfer. It's your choice, so don't do anymore than you can afford.

I'm going to a community college, but i want out.I only need 16 more hours for a associative.Should i stay?myspace bulletins myspace.com

Go to the real college, the associates degree is meaningless.
yes any associates is better than none on a resume. Even if other colleges don't accept it, it still can get you through some of the beginnner classes.
Go 2 a real college. 4 get about it.
If you are going on to get a 4 year degree then the associates doesn't really help you any. What you have to check is which classes will transfer where you are going. Sometimes there are advantages to getting the associates and sometimes there are advantages of going straight to the 4 year college. The key is which classes will transfer.
Stay and get your associates. Later if you want you can transfer all of your credits to a 4 year college to earn a bachelors degree. Many 4 year colleges require you to earn a certain # of credits from them before they will grant you a degree. You may end up having to take more than the 16 credits you have left to get a degree from. It's better to stay where you are and finish.
I would switch up and go to regular college. But make sure you take all your core classes before you leave! You have to do what will give you the best end result.
16 HOURS IS LESS THEN A DAY YES STAY THEN MOVE ON
Complete your associates at the community college, then transfer those credits to an accredited university and get your Bachelors or Masters or PHD there. Hang in there.....no matter how long it takes you it will be well worth the reward.
For the sake of 16 hours?????

Stay %26amp; finish, THEN move on!

In the unlikely event you fail in the future, you will at least be able to prove you can see things through to the end.....
why in the world would you get out now when your almost done i mean 16 hours is really not that much just get it done with you will feel so much better about it once your done then you will also feel like you have accomplished something
If the associates is meaningless (as the first answerer said), get it cheaply and then go to the more expensive college for your real classes. I would check with the college I wanted to got to for the next 2 years and make sure that all my credits transferred
Stick it out and get the associate's degree.

1. It shows employers that you have dedication and perserverance.

2. If something happens and you can't go to a four year college, you will at least have the associate's degree, which is better than nothing.

3. It is easier to transfer an associate's degree than being short credits when you do go to the four year college.
Associative is not Meaningless it will get you anywhere that is what i am going for i am not even in college yet and i am going to a community college! I think that you should stay with it NO matter what you think is wrong with the classes or even if you have only 16 hours get them over a done with! dont listen to the first person!!!! just kidding! but i think you really should stick with it and finish it you will get far with that assciates degree!! four year colleges look for people like you!
It's a lot cheaper to get your first two years at a community college than a regular college. Meanwhile you have an associate degree and you transfer to the regular college and your resume says your degree is from the regular college.

You can also take clep exams to get your degree faster. www.collegeboard.com/clep
You can get 16 hours in one semester. If you stay and finish it up you'll always have the associates. Much better than nothing. Who knows what will happen later, you might go to a real college and decide you hate it. Or have to quit for other reasons.
DO NOT FORGET ABOUT IT. everything counts. if u forget about it then you'll have to worry about starting anew and if another college will accept Ur credits u have already received from the community college. get Ur associates, then go on to a 4yr. you basically cant do anything without at least a bachelors anyway these days. do not let it go. u have earned it and only have less than 24hrs which is the same as a day to finish. think of it that way. only les than a days worth of time.....good luck!
It depends on what the degree is in and why you are wanting to quit.

If you are totally unhappy and not getting anything out of the community college courses and there isn't a job you can get on the two yr degree, then maybe you should quit. Why throw money away when you are miserable where you are?

If you are doing okay but a little bored and there are jobs you can get with the two year associates degree - take a semester off and then go finish it. A little break might do you a world of good. But you should go for the two year degree so you can work in that field while you are attending the four yr college. Or gain experience if you aren't ready to go to a four year college right away.

If you are just thinking you are in the wrong major, talk to one of the school counselors and see if any of the credits you've already earned will transfer easily into another major.
This might depend somewhat on what you career field of choice is. I would never say any associates degree is totally worthless, rather that its only worthless if you don't make every effort to use it. Sure, if you can afford the bigger, better college, go for it. Good Luck...
two year degree

can help get foot into good companies,

nothing is meaningless

re education...
finish your 16 hours and then transfer to a 4 year college. I would ask yourself if you are afraid of something?

I knew of some people that dropped out on their last semester and never went back to finish their degree. They had FEAR written all over them.

I went to a community college, got my AA, then transfered to a 4 year college. Now I have my Masters degreee. It was well worth it.
Go to a real college. Nobody will care about your associates.

...plus, now days you will likely need to go on and get a masters

What is life in Korean community like in Phillippines?

I heard that Phillipinoes consider the Korean community in their country to be a pretty much closed society due to language and culture barriers even though such barriers are slowly eroding. I also heard that it's far more common to find Korean-Phillipinoes who regret coming to Phillippines than the ones who really made it in Phillippines. Well, I think that would be the case with immigrants in any countries.

Anyone out there who can give me a little story about life in the Phillippines for Koreans?

What is life in Korean community like in Phillippines?stars myspace

The Philippines is the host country of the largest Korean community in Southeast Asia (numbering between 50,000 to 70,000). Among the first Korean immigrants came to the Philippines after the second World War, in search of better living conditions. The presence of the Korean community in the Philippines since then, however, had been only slightly felt in Philippine society until the late 1980s, when the "Korean Wave" (the mass influx of Korean tourists and immigrants) started.

Few Koreans in the country inter-married with Filipinos, a pattern that still continues, now contributing to the highly diversified ethnic population of Philippines.

There are well over 50,000 Koreans living in the Philippines today. The Korea Towns in both BF Homes Para?aque and BF Homes Quezon City as well as in Makati are considerably large.

Because of an existing (although slowly disappearing) barrier in regards to language and even dietary preferences, the Korean community is usually seen as a closed group by many Filipinos. Interaction between the two groups however is increasing, a good example of which is rise in popularity of Sandara Park, a Korean singer and actress on Philippine television. There are many Korean Christian churches scattered all over Metro Manila and other large cities in the Philippines which serve as centers of not only religious but social activities within the Korean community as well.

At least 524,000 Koreans visitors came to the Philippines in 2005 for business, education, and/or leisure purposes. Many Koreans living in the Philippines say the standard of living in the country is significantly cheaper than in South Korea including education and housing. The recent influx of Koreans has been so great that 65% of the 155,744 foreigners who visited Boracay, the Philippines' most popular tourist attraction, were Koreans. A huge percentage of Korean tourists enroll in a short-term English language course to cope with Korea's growing demand for English proficiency.

Outside Metro Manila, there are large numbers of Koreans residing in Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao, Dumaguete and Angeles.

What is life in Korean community like in Phillippines?myspace songs myspace.com

Most of the Koreans who came to the Phil. said that their reason for coming is for the cheap English classes and/or college tuition. English is very well taught in the Phil. Also, everyone born in one country always have a hard time coming to another, especially if you don't speak the language. Still, I believe most Filipinos (It's spelled this way, by the way) are okay with the Koreans.
The Koreans community in city jails are slowly rising. They turn wild when drunk. They don't pay the taxi, hotel, drinks.
Most of the Koreans I got to know came to the Philippines to practice speaking English, if not learning English from scratch. They say they needed to pass some English proficiency exams back in Korea. Passing these exams will lead them to higher paying jobs. Most of these visiting Koreans prefer to stay in groups with fellow Koreans. A lot of them would make it a point to visit the beaches here in the Philippines, the most famous of which is in Boracay Island. Some Korean families who have apparently decided to stay awhile in the country try to pick up Filipino terms and expressions along the way.

I've also noted some Korean males bring along their "bad behavior" while in the country. Others have become devout Christians. Korean restaurants, convenience stores and businesses are sprouting up quickly in heavily populated areas in the country. I am hopeful that Korean-Filipino relations will improve in the years to come.
yes everything you heard is true , the filipinos are not friendly to that kind
I agree with no. 3. They turn abusive
you're aware that there is a language and cultural barrier, so that pretty explains your question. not all koreans find it difficult to stay in the philippines, i've met and known many who have stayed there for more than ten years or so.they've their own business establishments and own houses, cars and other properties. and many intends to stay there for as long as they can because korea couldn't provide them the luxurious life (because everything they say is costly in korea) they're enjoying in the philippines.
I am from Baguio, a city in the Philippines where a considerable number of Koreans is seen. Because of the weather here which is similar to autumn, many EFL schools are built here and many more will be.

I also teach Koreans and has been in this business for two years. The Philippines and Korea have differences - a lot of differences when it comes to culture, technology and everything. Many Filipinos and Koreans can go along with each other well but not when the said matters are discussed. Anyway, Koreans usually have high expectations in everything that's why they end up with mountains of regrets in coming here. Only a few of them just realize how good it was being here in the Philippines.

Koreans love to travel and they like beaches most especially but when you go to such places, they end up so disappointed. Again, only a few would say they enjoyed the place they visited. Actually, there are a lot of places to love in the Philippines but many Koreans don't have eyes for appreciation because they just want to see something bad from this country. Some of those who are extra arrogant overdo it on criticizing because it's all that they can do since they don't have the skills they wish they have. I am speaking of English skills. Most of those who would criticize this way are insecure Koreans and the only way they think they can compensate for their losses is to demean the country.

Many Koreans look down on Filipinos because they feel like they are looked up to in this country. In fact, with them and the other races as well, we are discriminated in our own country. It's a sad thing.

Filipinos and Koreans have been compared with each other many times and for many Koreans, of course, they are always the better race between us.

It's sad for many Filipinos dealing with them because sometimes they would make us feel like we are joining a war between two countries. They also think they make us envy with their looks so they walk on the street with chins up. I don't give a damn though. This is childish.

Well, anyway, Koreans are not at all that bad in the Philippines. Some are good to deal with and those are whom I'd always remember.
I've never lived there.
